Why Mirenza

What You Carry Away From Each Session

Not a certificate. Not a product recommendation. A clearer way of reading the documents that have always been in your drawer.

Six Things That Set These Workshops Apart

Reading Comes First

Material is sent in advance and read before each session. The meeting is for discussion, not delivery — which means participants arrive with questions already formed.

Small Groups by Design

Between six and twelve people per cohort. Not a compromise — a deliberate choice. Small groups produce better discussion and more honest questions.

No Products, Ever

No financial products are presented, discussed, or recommended. Mirenza holds no advisory licence and seeks none. The workshops are purely educational — this is not a qualifying statement, it is the entire model.

Tangible Materials to Keep

Every programme includes printed materials — a binder, workbook, or playbook — that participants take home and can return to. The reference shelf value outlasts the session.

Paced for Adults 40+

The reading load, session rhythm, and discussion approach are calibrated for adults who are not looking to be rushed. Programmes accommodate working and retired participants.

A Fixed, Accessible Venue

All sessions are held at Cross Street Exchange, two minutes from Chinatown MRT. The room is set up as a reading and discussion space — not a training room or seminar hall.

In Depth

Five Areas Where These Workshops Hold Up

Educational Depth and Facilitator Experience

The Mirenza facilitation team brings a combined background in adult and continuing education spanning over two decades. Reading series materials are reviewed annually and updated where terminology or standard document formats have changed. Facilitators hold adult education qualifications and are not drawn from the financial services industry — a deliberate separation that preserves the educational character of each session.

Facilitators with adult learning qualifications
Annual material review for accuracy
No financial services background — preserved neutrality

A Consistent Programme Methodology

The reading-before-meeting format has been used across every Mirenza intake since 2019. It is not adapted to maximise throughput or to squeeze more sessions into a term — it runs at the pace the material warrants. Post-programme feedback is collected anonymously after every cohort and the results are used to refine delivery, not to justify it.

Consistent pre-reading, then discussion format
Anonymous participant feedback after each cohort
Cohort size limits observed without exception

Practical Materials, Not Slides

Each programme produces something the participant keeps and can use independently. The six-week series produces a clothbound binder with annotated chapters and weekly glossary cards. The reset workshop produces a workbook and a household ledger template. The family meeting workshop produces a meeting playbook with agenda templates. These are not promotional items — they are working documents.

All materials included in the programme fee
Printed format designed for ongoing personal reference
No digital-only delivery — physical materials provided

Peer Discussion as a Learning Tool

Small cohorts are not just a logistical preference — they make peer discussion viable. Adults aged 40 and above bring a range of personal and professional experience to a reading on personal finance. Hearing how others in a similar life stage have understood the same chapter adds context that no facilitator can supply alone.

Peer exchange is a structured component, not incidental
Discussion protocols keep sessions constructive
Follow-up circles extend the conversation after workshops end

Transparent, All-Inclusive Pricing

All three programme fees are published on the Mirenza website and are inclusive of materials and follow-up circles where applicable. There is no separate charge for the printed binder or workbook, no optional add-on modules, and no follow-up sales contact after a programme ends. The fee is the fee.

Prices published clearly — S$155, S$300, S$870
All materials included — no hidden costs
No upsell contact after the programme

Comparison

Mirenza vs. Typical Adult Education Offerings

Typical Providers

  • Large classroom format — 30 to 100 participants, limited individual discussion
  • Lecture-delivered content — passive reception, no pre-reading
  • Generic materials, not tailored to this age cohort's concerns
  • Facilitators from financial sales backgrounds — outcome emphasis
  • Follow-up contact often includes product outreach

Mirenza

  • Six to twelve participants — every voice has space, discussion is real
  • Reading sent in advance — the session is discussion-led, not lecture-led
  • Materials written specifically for adults at a reflective life stage
  • Facilitators from adult education — no financial services background
  • No follow-up contact after the programme — the engagement is complete

What Only Mirenza Offers

Distinctive Features of Our Approach

Quarterly Follow-Up Circles

The family meeting workshop includes a quarterly follow-up reflection circle — a small group session for past participants to share how they have applied what they read. No other adult education provider in this space offers this as a standard inclusion.

Clothbound Reading Materials

The six-week series includes a clothbound reading binder — printed, structured, and designed to sit on a shelf. This is not a photocopied packet. It is a considered reference document that participants keep.

The Peer Discussion Notebook

The six-week series includes a personal peer discussion notebook — a small blank-paged notebook for recording thoughts, questions, and observations from each session. Participants keep it after the series ends.

The Household Ledger Template

The mid-career reset workshop includes a household ledger template — a printed document for recording and reviewing household financial flows. It is practical, not aspirational: designed to be filled in, not filed away.
